Steve Kanar was born in South Carolina and grew up in an air force pilot’s family. He attended Emory University, the University of Florida, and Duke Law School. Steve began law practice in Orlando, Florida, in 1969. He immediately gravitated into high-tech, aerospace, and medical-related litigation. He has received Board Certification as a civil trial lawyer and National Certification as a civil trial advocate and has a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating. Simultaneously, he pursued a part-time career in aviation. He holds a commercial, multi-engine, instrument pilot’s license with jet certification. He single-handedly built and test flew a high-performance, experimental unlimited aerobatics airplane. He did course work, research, and taught Aviation Law at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the Masters of Aeronautical Science program.
Married to Carol Kanar, Steve is retired from his law practice, and he and his wife divide their time between Florida and Maine.
