Producer David Barron Options Film & TV Rights to Behind the Throne, by K. B. Wagers
Book is first in series featuring princess-turned-gunrunner, Hail Bristol.
SAN DIEGO, CA, August 2, 2018—David Barron, a UK film producer known for his work on the Harry Potter movies, has optioned film & television rights to the acclaimed science-fiction novel Behind the Throne (Orbit, US & UK), by K. B. Wagers.
Behind the Throne begins K. B. Wager’s action-packed science fiction adventure, with a heroine as rebellious as Han Solo, as savvy as Leia, and as skilled as Rey.
Hail Bristol has made a name for herself as one of the most fearsome gunrunners in the galaxy. But she can’t escape her past forever: twenty years ago, she was a runaway princess of the Indranan Empire. But when Hail is dragged back to Indrana to take her rightful place as the only remaining heir, she finds that trading her ship for a palace is her most dangerous move yet.

Behind the Throne is the first book in the Indranan War trilogy. It received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Library Journal, which named it “One of the best books of 2017.” Hail’s adventures will continue in a second trilogy, also to be published by Orbit beginning in Fall 2018.

David Barron has worked as a producer on multiple blockbuster films, including six in the Harry Potter franchise, The Legend of Tarzan, Cinderella, and the forthcoming Mowgli. He got his start in the industry working on such renowned films as The French Lieutenant’s Woman, The Killing Fields, The Princess Bride, and Kenneth Branaugh’s Hamlet.

I have read the Indranan War trilogy and have been begging to the universe that it would turn into a movie or show!!! I absolutely love the trilogy, thank you KB Wagers!!!
I’ve only read the first two books of the trilogy, but thought just reading the first one that it would make a good movie, sort of in the vein of Star Wars! Excellent writing, and some of those books that you just hate to put down! Bravo, K.B. Wager!
A book you can relate to straight away, alot of sci-fi, especially large scale, can take a while to suss out and lay down what’s what. Good news bout the film rights.

I just finished book 1 of the Indranan war. It is an amazing, amazing work of fiction. This book is not my usual go to which is David Webber John Ringo and others but over the last four decades I have read most oF the great sify writers. looks like I found a new one. Anytime an author can make me emotional over one of their characters she has real talent. Don’t, do not miss out on this SERIOUSLY good book. Can’t wait to start book 2
Folks might compare this to Star Wars but the Indranan trilogy blows Star Wars away. Disney should forget about reinventing Star Wars and devote time and money to develop books like these into television and film.
